Since the weather outside is frightful (at least in our neck of the woods), we’re providing your survivors with some new weapons, outfits, and hats appropriate to the season. Plus, we have some important news about our content packs and the Bounty Broker.
New Weapons from the Bounty Broker
All five of these new weapons are available by completing the appropriate bounty for the Bounty Broker.
-
Fire Poker: Claim this surprisingly lethal blunt weapon by killing bloaters with fire for the Bounty Broker.
-
We must all keep a little fire burning; however small, however hidden. Perhaps this sturdy weapon will aid that endeavor.
-
-
Ice Axe: To earn this bladed weapon from the Bounty Broker, you’ll have to sever a lot of plague zombie arms.
-
Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice. Regardless, you'll want this durable tool in hand to fend off your enemies.
-
-
Antler Knife: This exotic close combat weapon can be earned by killing bloaters with crossbows for the Bounty Broker.
-
Take this blade in hand and perhaps you'll be able to discover your own barbaric yawp.
-
-
M9: All you have to do to claim this useful handgun from the Bounty Broker is to kill a juggernaut with a pistol shot.
-
This 9mm pistol was a workhorse of law enforcement and the military. It's not the largest handgun you'll find, but as a wise man once said, "It ain't no ham on rye."
-
-
1911 The Producer: You might get a little bloody earning this handgun from the Bounty Broker, as you’ll need to kill armored zeds in close combat.
-
This compact, feisty pistol reminds me of what a young lady once said: "I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker color."
-
New Outfits and a New Facility Mod!
This content pack adds 10 new outfits, 10 new hats, and a brand-new facility mod, all with an eye toward keeping your survivors warm and cozy.
-
Bomber Jacket
-
The “Crimson” version of this sexy jacket is available from the Bounty Broker.
-
Four additional versions can be found by scavenging in appropriate sites, such as homes, farms, or retail shops.
-
-
Biker Jacket
-
The attractive “Cinnamon” version of this badass jacket-and-jeans combo is distributed automatically to every player.
-
Four additional versions (including the inevitable black) can be found by scavenging in appropriate sites, such as homes and garages.
-
-
Bomber Hat
-
A nifty leather bomber hat bearing the State of Decay logo is available from the Bounty Broker.
-
Four additional bomber hats can be found by scavenging in appropriate sites, such as Auto Shops or Gun Stores.
-
-
Knit Earflap Cap
-
Every player receives one of these fun hats for free, and another is available from the Bounty Broker.
-
Three more can be found by scavenging in appropriate sites, such as homes and campgrounds.
-
-
Wood Stove (Facility Mod)
-
This new facility mod improves morale at your base, as long as you have a supply of materials. (The wood stove doesn’t actually consume these materials).
-
You can earn this mod by killing screamers with vehicles for the Bounty Broker.
-
New Content Pack “Retirement” Plan
We think it’s important to keep content packs and challenges fresh. This month we’ve retired the WW2 guns from the Bounty Broker’s inventory. In March, the Go Bag and Fearsome Footage packs will also be retired.
In all cases, you keep anything you already own, but you can’t acquire more items from the retired packs.
After that, each time we add a content pack, we’ll “cycle out” a pack to make room. Of course, in a world where corpses walk, nothing stays dead for long...
Additional Changes
-
Several Apocalypse Vehicles have gained improvements to their cargo capacity.
-
The Hellion (upgraded hatchback) went from 5 to 6 spaces.
-
The Smashwagon (upgraded SUV) went from 6 to 7 spaces.
-
The Wichita ES (upgraded sedan) went from 4 to 7 spaces (finally justifying its cargo pod).
-
The Vandito (upgraded van) went from 8 to 9 spaces (making it the new top-capacity vehicle in the game).
-
-
Muzzle attachments have been rebalanced to offer more interesting choices.
-
Suppressors are now tuned to the stats of the gun, and have additional drawbacks.
-
Suppressors now reduce the noise produced by a weapon based on its starting value, instead of replacing it with a fixed value. So louder and quieter guns are still different from each other with suppressors attached.
-
The penalties to power and range have also been increased to 50%, across the board. More advanced suppressors now reduce power and range just as much as simpler suppressors.
-
The reduced power doesn’t affect headshots, but it does reduce the damage to large targets (like Juggernauts and Plague Hearts), and it reduces the likelihood of other effects, like knockdown, dismemberment, and penetration.
-
-
Muzzle brakes now provide an increased chance of knockdown, dismemberment, or penetration, counterbalancing the drawbacks of suppressors.
-
To be clear, this means adding a muzzle brake can provide a chance for knockdown, dismemberment, or penetration to weapons not normally powerful enough to do those things.
-
Higher quality muzzle brakes provide a greater additional chance.
-
-
-
We fixed a bunch of physics bugs with projectiles and launched objects, so grenades and molotovs should no longer bounce off enemies or penetrate through walls.
-
We made some performance improvements to help keep a stable frame rate.

any chance we'll see a new map or leader type soon? the clothes are fun but fleetingly. the vehicle adjustments are much appreciated as are the suppressor mods. sad to see the WWII weapons go.
To be Entirely honest I'm just disappointed with this latest update. it is appalling the apparent lack of regard or acknowledgment shown to the fan base. we wanted new maps and maybe some more actual story to the game. dont get me wrong SoD2 is a HUGE leap forward from what you guys did with SoD1 (still play it sometimes btw) but now that you guys have gotten bigger you seem to be losing touch. I understand and thank you for not putting every damn thing behind a paywall like Ubisoft or EA. but now it just feels like no effort is being put into the game and believe me I understand the creative process I went to college for animation and have taken several computer coding courses even going so far as to make a text based RPG out of Java script. I understand that it would take some time to give us a new map but at this rate when you finally release a new map I fear there wont be much of a player base left to enjoy it. your player base isnt playing on normal any more its all nightmare or mid and nerfing suppressors in the manner you did has rendered guns almost unusable in those modes. you are hurting your fan base by "trying to give them more tactical options" if you want us to have more freedom in the way we play then yoyu shouldve buffed chokes and left suppressors alone and IDK maybe work on various glitches and give us useful scopes. Once again I dont come to you with this out of malice but out of respect. I love SoD1 and I want SoD2 to grow up and be even better.
So, we lose guns because your game is buggy as all hell And cant handle a lot of content, like top tier games like red dead and gta online are doing now, today this second , and the make your game look like a ps2 game....right? And you have MICROSOFT backing you.😂🤣🤣
Agree on Gibson , we need some actual story on sod2
... Could we add an ingame gambling system with the bounty broker? Like use challenges to use a roulette system for a retired piece of gear? Hell it could be a simple, quest that is given that spawns a random weapon from that list. I just hate to see them go.
Are we ever going to see a fix for the error code 3? Ya know the game breaking mp bug that kicks you from the host game...
Is this ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LMNmQzK_8k&t=1192s ) true?
Ok so do you know anything about how suppressors work? You do know that they DO NOT make a weapon less durable right? That to me is the dumbest idea in the history of ideas when it comes to "balancing" weapons. I get making the damage less, penetration less, and have less range but to make a weapon lose durability because you have a suppressor on it is the most asinine thing you could have done and now the advanced suppressor makes your weapons lose the exact same value of damage and range as the handmade or any lesser one is dumb I am sorry. It should make them lose less than the tiers below it and the fact that you just nerfed them into the ground is asinine as well. Thank you for ruining gun play and i am now going to go play a much much better game where the Dev's understand weapons and how things should me made in a game. Thank you for ruining one of my all time favorite games but do to this one change it is now unplayable to me.
Please Fix Network ERRORS!!!! The Game is for Windows Gamers not playable... Errorcode 3.

I've taken this quest from Bounty hunter and killed a bunch of armored zeds with blunt and sharped melee weapons but I still on 0/25. What do I do wrong??? Help please
