How to Help Your Idea Survive
Pinned1. Verify your one (1) idea is unique to your post.
Check that your one idea is in fact a new idea by searching for a keyword. If you see a post that is exactly what you want, too, then give it an upvote! This is the best way to get traction on idea. Duplicates will be deleted in favor of the post with the most upvotes on it.
2. Explain how your idea improves the game.
Tell us how this works and why it's a great improvement. Think of it from the community's perspective, not just your own. You're more likely to get upvotes on an idea that benefits everyone.
3. Vote for ideas that will improve the game.
This is how you get our attention -- we want to see what's trending! Feel free to solicit feedback for your idea in Discord. Ask people to vote on your idea if it's something you know they want, too.
4. Include only one (1) idea within each post.
Keep your post to one idea, only. If we see a lot of votes on a post with three ideas, we don't have clear data about which idea is most valuable. Separating the ideas into unique posts is better because it helps us understand what the community really wants. If we see a lot of votes on "characters have more pocket space" and not so many on "storage locker reorganization," that gives us clear data to work with. If a post has more than one idea, it will be deleted.
5. Be respectful of others.
Spam, incomplete ideas, joke suggestions or abusive speech will not be tolerated. We're all in this together!
6. Try to keep it brief.
There are a lot of wishes on the list. People have limited time to read your idea and assess its value. Keep it focused!
The Wish List is a valuable resource for our development team. Though we can't grant every wish, even if popular (we're looking at you, weather systems), we do carefully evaluate Wish List requests as a team and measure those against our resources, capabilities, and roadmap. We love it when we can make these happen, and you'll see the wishes that made it into the game called out in almost every set of patch notes. Thank you for your great ideas!
