I already suggested this in Discord wishlist:
"One of my wish lists:
- Deepen the relationships of the survivors and implement bonuses when using certain survivors, for example: There are at least 2 pairs of initial survivors who maintain a romantic relationship. In one of these couples, the description says "They did not know each other before the outbreak, but now they are inseparable, now they hope that the apocalypse that united them, does not separate them". They must deepen that kind of relationships with their own missions and their own "mini story". The man could gain some points of resistance when he is following / being followed by his girlfriend or something similar. Also Those couples could have their own dialogues between they "
But I prefer the way how the user Generic White Dude expose this:
"Moreso for SOD3 but I'd love an in depth character relationship system. Characters develop rivalries, relationships, friendships, etc. which can all lead to different scenarios. For exampe, lrivalries can eventually lead to hatred, which can eventually lead to a falling out where you have to pick one survivor over another. How the falling out plays out, depends on the personality of the survivor (warlord, negative/positive traits, etc.) and can lead to either an exile, shootout, resolution, or even split the community in half if those survivors formed friendships or relationships with other survivors. That way, you'd really have to be careful recruiting people and even more wary of discord in the community.
Relationships could be romantic, and can lead to morale and stat boosts for the survivors. However, should one die the other would become depressed and potentially could commit suicide or become dead weight in the community.
Friendships would work like relationships but to a far less significant degree, and would really mostly come into play in the case of a rivalry gone bad.
In general, also making the community feel more alive would be. Characters talk to each other, play board games, spar, shoot targets, etc."
This system would completely complement the game, because one of the aspect that I like most about State of Decay 2 is the characters personality, their jokes, fears, and their random hopeful comments, and this contribute to the realism feel of the game.
The dialogues of the game must fit with the type of relationship survivors have. For example:
Peggy and Christie are mother and daughter. The dialogues between them must be dialogues between mother and daughter. When Peggy falls into combat (not dead) Christie must call her: "Mom! Resist! (or something like that).
In the same way:
Paquito and Lilyana are lovers according to the initial story of the game. They must have dialogues and interaction according their relationship status.
