SOD2 Being able to carry a BACK UP FIREARM

CURRENT SITUATION:

At the moment, pistols and revolvers have a Starting weapon role in the game, they are common, light and easy to use, but in the later game they mostly become obsolete. Once your characters can carry heavier loads and have decent aim there is no use in a Handgun.

MY PROPOSAL:

Allow the players to carry a second firearm as a backup weapon. The idea is that all weapons are divided into primary and secondary firearms, And a player can carry and equip one of each. There is a SPACE bellow the rucksacks and on the side of the backpacks, the idea is to place here the secondary firearm slot here. or as an alternative. Have the two melee weapons the melee and the backup knife, together as they are, then the primary firearm and the secondary firearm and then the backpack and rucksack. To keep it simple and intuitive-

What counts as a Primary Firearm?

All firearms that are carried on the back are Primary Firearms

What counts as a Secondary Firearm?

All firearms that are carried on the leg, are Secondary Firearms

ANIMATION:

There is no need to call the MOCAP team to make a new animation as the game already has the animations that are required. The idea is simple. When the player changes firearm the already in game animation to store the firearm will be triggered and then the player will use the regular animation for taking out the backup. The only thing is that to make it as useful as possible this one´s should be accelerated. 

IMPROVEMENTS

SNIPERS:

People who love SNIPERS are generally on a disadvantage when fighting on close quarters. This will allow them to have a back up to fight on interiors.

DAYBREAK:

One of the less used and less useful firearm on daybreak is the CLEO pistol with this, the CLEO pistol will become a fan favorite backup as its always drop on the CLEO packages.

VALUE

Some of the game handguns are abandoned or scrapped in the later game as they lose they main value. So doing this will bring them back as an always useful item. Pistols like the PPK or TARGET MK3 are weak and hava a low ammo capacity BUT as a backup firearm they are perfect. They are Light, cheap, and easy to find, a good gun for when your main firearm is out of ammo
