An idea for the online element of SOD3. Allow players to have their own single player community, but add an option to join an online community with other players. Almost like a club. This “club” can have sessions with up to like 8 people and not have a single host so there’s no tethering. This club can have player leadership that can control base location, base management, and maybe even assign missions/request players to get certain goods. All the items will stay in that world to prevent players from stealing everything and taking it back to their single player world. But, give options to use influence to purchase unique items that would transfer straight to single player. Mods, weapons, trait, etc. Maybe even have certain base plots only available in online communities that can be used to craft and make items to transfer into single player. This kind of online system would allow more player interaction while still supporting a single player experience through unique rewards.
