Map should be a giant map like ghost recon wildlands consisting of different biomes such as swamp lands ,forests ,sea ports ,snowy mountains, suburban home areas, rural areas, urban ghettos , farm land with big corn fields (imagine getting chased by a feral or horde through a cornfield in a stormy night ,HOLY SHIT) and yes cities PLEASE (small or large cities). If not cities give us two or three story buildings to replicate a city. One giant map should keep the fans contained for a long time if done right and with bigger and better bases such as schools , Prisons ,hospitals, depot stores, military forts and more, outposts that you can send settlers to live , Base management jobs to assign community member to like patrol jobs, trade caravans routes (think fallout 4) ,send scavengers to scavenge, chemists jobs to make drugs YES DRUGS to improve happiness but be carful different drugs have different affects , set up large scale assaults to be part or just pick the people to do the job and more To add a survival element to the game I believe state of decay three should have a hardcore survival mode with weather conditions affect in the environment such rain making the dirt extremely as muddy which will slow you down , deep snow slowing you down, proper clothing in hot/cold environments or face the consequences , be a Cannibal and build a team of cannibals (in a dark world you will do dark things for survival). Think of the world that is truly filled with a decay ,people doing drugs to escape this new reality ,people that will do anything to survive weather its doing good things to rebuild society such as daily/weekly/monthly trade caravans ,peace deals ,defensive pacts, And getting rid of the zombies and other undesirables OR Feel the pressure in this big world of decay and wage war against your allies and enemies , choose your choice of food Whether it’s human flesh or something to your normal taste, become drug lords in this big world , use your man power and weapons in this big world Create vassals out of the weaker settlements (Negan style) and keep them doing your bidding. This big world will need a karma/morality system though to differentiate the good from the bad and continuous change in people because of certain situations.
