Requests/ideas for SoD3
I LOVE the more realistic vibes, serious tone and slow pace that the SoD3 reveal trailer conveys with emphasis on intensity, stealth and vulnerability, I'm sure undead labs will pull off these dynamics in the game brilliantly. My perfect SoD3 has all these elements plus
1. A fully fledged rollercoaster of a story like The Last Of Us or The Walking Dead that you can play through solo with AI Teammates/survivors and online friends.
2. Ability to ride horses as well as drive vehicles
3. Ability to build on and expand your settlements exactly like in fallout 4.
4. Assign your survivors to your different settlements and assign a job to each survivor like "cook", "guard" "lookout" "runner/supply scavenger" "trader" "teacher" "combat trainer" etc and AI scavengers in your community will find resources (food, medicine, fuel, building materials) themselves (think of it like with zoo/rollercoaster tycoon style management features for your settlements and survivors) .
5. Dynamic battles with rival groups who on a few occasions may try to steal from your settlements/outposts, capture and kidnap your survivors etc and you can to help win the battle and turn the tide.
6. Keep zombies tied up to act as traps for rival groups
7. Ability to have as many AI Teammates/survivors follow you as you want/need and be able to trade items with them quickly at will like in fallout 4
8. Give your survivors an interesting weakness/negative stats that over time you can improve such as "terrible with firearms" "broken arm/bad melee attacks", "addict" - likely to steal your meds "criminal" - may do crimes in your camp if you don't keep an eye on them "scaredy cat" - bad aim and panics in a fight losing control of that survivor for a small duration of time - these will create interesting scenarios.
9. Have a friendship/relationship system - if two survivors become friends/best friends/lovers they get perks depending on their friendship/relationship when they're out of camp together i.e. both get more health, more stamina, more damage resistance etc and if one survivor gets incapacitated, it will take less time for the other survivor to revive them. This will give survivors more interaction and you'll care more about them. If the two survivors hate each other they'll get negative perks, longer revive time etc. Another dynamic.
10. Let us create our own characters with a robust character creation system - face, hair, body, clothes, the whole lot. I know it's leaning this way anyway with the introduction of the clothes customisation but the more freedom you can give us the players, the better.
11.Give the characters dynamic dialogue so they can tell stories to each other in and out of camp, kind of like rdr2 and watch dogs legion I imagine.
12. New special zombies, animal zombies is great you can get lots of variety, flying eagle zombies, bears, shark zombies haha.
13. Ability to use zombie guts as camouflage
14. Ability to find refuge in another communities base for a while if your group gets overrun and work for that ally community in order to earn your keep until you're ready to leave or they kick you out etc. Great dynamic
15. Ability to set up defenses at your settlements to help against attacks
16. Ability to be the leader of your community or have an AI leader and you work for them - different dynamic.
17 - better stealth system - ability to go prone and crawl to avoid enemies and zombies in close quarters, darkness, shadows, perks and upgrades can make you more stealthy/less detectable by threats. (Steal from the two new ghost recon's)
18 - ability to hunt for food
19 - ability to do fun activities with your survivors to pass the time if you get a chance - fish together, drink and eat around a campfire with a guitar, dance to music etc create happy memories to contrast the gritty reality of the outbreak
20 - a realistic thirst and hunger meter for the current survivor you play as
21 - ability to build massive thriving survivor communities like Alexandra in TWW (with events to go horribly wrong and test your management skills to the limit! 😉)
22 - give survivors with great survival knowledge the ability to craft makeshift weapons like shivs and wooden bows and arrows by finding wood/axing wood off trees and give them the ability to teach this to less knowledgeable survivors over time.
23 - survivors could have a skills level system similar to The Sims where each area of skill "gardening" "cooking" "stealth" "survival knowledge" "firearms efficiency" etc has a level and every survivor will be on a different level depending on their area of expertise.
A bucket load of points I know, but these ideas would make my zombie game wet dream haha. If you got to the end of this, thank you 😁
